ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING

The department of EEE has qualified, experienced and enthusiastic faculty to provide good valuable based education to the students. The department has well equipped state of the art laboratories and very modern classrooms and library. The Department has a separate Computer Centre with state of software packages like MATLAB, MIPOWER, Pspice etc., for study and analysis of Electrical Machines Power Systems and Power Electronic Systems.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO's)

The objectives of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Programs are as follows:

  • PEO-1:  To provide students with the knowledge of Basic Sciences and Social Science in general and Electrical Engineering in particular so as to impart the necessary skills to analyze and synthesize Electrical Circuits, Algorithms and Complex apparatus.

  • PEO-2: To provide technical knowledge, skill and competence to identify, comprehend and solve problems in Industry, Research and Academics related to Power, Information and electronic hardware.

  • PEO-3:  To prepare the students to successfully work in various Industrial and Government organizations, both at the National and International level, with professional competence and ethical administrative acumen so as to be able to handle critical situations and meet deadlines.

  • PEO-4:  To prepare and inspire the students to become future researchers / scientists with innovative ideas for a sustainable development.

  • PEO-5:  To mould the students to improve their technical and intellectual capabilities through life-long learning process so as to become good teachers, either in a class or to juniors in industry.

  • PEO-6:   To provide training to the student’s in humanity and communication skills so that they may be both good team- members and leaders.

Program Outcomes (POs)

Students are expected to posses some, if not all, of the attributes listed below:

  • PO 1: Ability to Apply the Knowledge of Applied Mathematics, Science and Engineering in all aspects of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. 

  • PO 2: An Ability to Communicate effectively and Formulate Technical Plans with Solutions and detailed reports of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

  • PO 3: Broad Theoretical Knowledge in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Methods of Applying them to identify, Formulate and Solve Practical Problems Involving Electrical, Electronic Signals & Power Systems in addition to proper usage of Renewable Resources .

  • PO 4: Ability to Design, Model and Fabricate Real Time Problems using various Hardware & Software Systems & Processes to Meet the Desired Performance Needs within Realistic Constraints both Off-Line and On-Line.

  • PO 5: Posses and Appreciation of Professional, Societal, Environmental and Ethical Issues to be a good Team Leader and also be a good Citizen of the Nation.

  • Electrical Machines laboratory is conducted for the students in their second year. In this course students perform basic experiments on Transformers, DC machines, Inductions motors and Synchronous machines.
  • Electronic Circuits Laboratory is conducted for the students in their second year. In this course students perform basic experiments on Semiconductor Diodes, Transistors and Logic Gates and their applications.
  • Op-Amp and Linear ICs Laboratory is conducted for the students in their second year. In this course students perform basic experiments on Operational Amplifiers, Integrated Circuits and their applications.
  • Microcontrollers Laboratory is conducted for the students in their third year. In this course students perform develop simple programs for Intel 8051 Microcontroller and MSP 430 Processors interfacing and its applications.
  • Power Electronics Laboratory is conducted for the students in their third year. In this course students perform experiments on SCR’s, MOSFET’s, IGBT’s, AC Voltage Controllers, DC Motor Speed Control, Chopper, Inverter Operations etc.,
  • Control Systems Laboratory is conducted for the students in their third year. In this course students perform experiments on lead compensating network, P, PI, PID Controllers, AC and DC Servo Motors, DC Position Control Systems, stability analysis using Bode, Nyquist, Root Locus Plots etc.,
  • Power System Simulation Laboratory is conducted for the students in their fourth year. In this course students validate Performance of Transmission Lines, formation of YBUS, perform, Load Flow Studies, Power Angle Curve, Fault Studies, Economic Dispatch and Stability Studies using software’s like MATLAB and Mi-Power.
  • High Voltage and Relay Laboratory is conducted for the students in their fourth year. In this course students perform experiments on Over Current Relay, Negative sequence Relays, Microprocessor Based Relays, HVAC and HVDC measurement using Spheres, Field Mapping, Dielectric Strength determination etc.,
