Yakshaninada

The Yaksha Ninada club is a unique feature of SDMIT that trains students with aspects related to Yakshagana, the beautiful coastal folklore. The objective of the club is to give exposure to performing arts by imparting dance and oration together, which is an important attribute of Yakshagana.

The club conducts several ‘Taalamaddale’ programs involving students trained by experts in the field. It trains aspirants in this artform, who perform exclusively every year on annual day. Yaksha Ninada also trains the aspirants in Yakshanagana makeup, which is an important and amongst the most attractive elements of the folklore.
