The BE course in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI&DS) was introduced at this institute in the year 2021 with an annual intake of 60 students. The course is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a specialised programme designed to enable students to implement and develop intelligent business applications to solve various industrial problems, data-driven solutions, software applications with the combination of programming and machine learning techniques, etc. In addition to software engineering courses, the students of AI & DS study business intelligence, natural language processing, data security and privacy, data visualisation, full stack development, augmented reality, etc.
The students will gain cross-disciplinary skills such as computer science, machine learning, data science, statistics, and acquire domain knowledge in data handling, knowledge extraction, mobile and distributed application development, intelligence web/ecommerce development, database administration, and decision support systems. The professionals of AI and data science find career opportunities in IT industry, healthcare, business, eCommerce, social networking companies, and other similar areas.
The department has well equipped laboratories to conduct experimental works in Object-oriented programming languages such as Java and C++, Python, Database Management System and Machine Learning, Mobile Application Development, etc.

- Engineering Knowledge
Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems. - Problem Analysis
Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems to reach substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. - Design/Development of Solutions
Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health, safety, cultural, societal, and environmental issues. - Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems
Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis, and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions. - Modern Tool Usage
