A 2- Day workshop on ROBOLUTION using Arduino Microcontroller board was held at department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, SDMIT, Ujire, on 28th and 29th Sept. 2019. Students constructed various projects like Bluetooth Controlled Robot, Home Automation Design, Interfacing of Sensors, RFID, etc.

Mechanical Engineering organized a two-day training program on ‘Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing’ for fifth semester students on 20th and 21st of Sept 2019. Resource person Mr. K S Narasimha Shenoy, Principal Engineer, Collins aerospace, Bangalore, focused on learning the basics of GD &T concepts which are widely used industries for design and development of products particularly in industry. Sumanth Jain, Uday Raikar, Sathwik, Swathi Somayaji, and Pooja Machamma, of III year Electronics and Communication have won First prize in Innovations and Incubations from Ideation to Realization held at MITE Moodbidri on 6th - 8th, Sept. 2019 

Mr. Sanath LS and Mr. Subramanya M, of III year Computer Science have secured First prize in TechCrunch 2K19 conducted by ISE student Forum and AIET-ISTE Student Chapter-KA-136 at Alva’s Institute of Engg. and Technology, Moodbidri, on 16th Sept. 2019

Faculty members of SDMIT played a YakshaganaTalamaddale - ‘Brahma Kapala’ at college auditorium on 13th Sept. Yakshagana Talamaddale is a local form of folklore where talented conversationalists engage in musical conversations based on scriptures. They are like plays, but without enactment.

Onam, the traditional festival of Kerala was celebrated at SDMIT on the 14th of September. Students observed the festival with traditional Kerala attire, floral rangoli, songs, dance performances and traditional celebrations. Festivities at SDMIT are symbolic of cross-cultural bonding at SDM.
