Valmiki Jayanti was celebrated at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute of Technology, Ujire, on Monday, October 7.Dr. Raveesh Padumale and Dr. G. P. Hegde spoke on the occasion. Principal Dr. Ashok Kumar, faculty members, and students were present. Floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Maharshi Valmiki.

Dr. Vinayshayam and Mr. Subrahmanya Sharma, Assistant Professors from the Department of Civil Engineering, along with students Mr. Vidyadhar, Mr. Sumanth Kumar, and Mr. Eshawar, have been granted a UK Patent for their innovative project titled “Mortar and Mud Block Moulding Machine Utilizing Bamboo”.

Student projects from SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire, earned accolades at the IEEE I2CONECCT-2025 Project Competition held at MITE, Moodabidri on 19th April, 2025. A summer camp for high school students was inaugurated at SDMIT, Ujire on 15th June 2025 by Prof. S.N. Kakathkar, Academic Dean, SDME Society. The camp attracted 30 students from various schools and featured engaging sessions on computer assembling, solar energy fundamentals, basic electronics, idea generation, career guidance, and soft skills.

In celebration of World Earth Day and World Book Day, a book exhibition was organized at the College Library on 22nd and 23rd April 2025. The event was coordinated by Dr. Rajatha, Librarian.

Road Safety Day was observed on 5th March 2025. Mr. Arjun K.H., Sub-Inspector, Belthangady Traffic Police, interacted with students on the topic of road safety. The session was coordinated by Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8th March 2025), Dr. Priya Ballal, Professor, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, delivered an insightful talk on the theme “Grow & Glow: Accelerating Action for Women's Wellness.” The program was coordinated by Dr. Rajatha, Librarian.

Prof. B. Ravi Director, NITK Surathkal gave a talk on Research Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at an intercollegiate workshop organized by SDMIT Ujire, on 22/03/2025.
