Summer Camp 2025
SDM Institute of Technology commenced a 9-day Summer Camp 2025 for high school students on 15-4-2025. The event was inaugurated by Prof. S.N. Kakathkar, Academic Coordinator for SDM Edu. Society. Prof. Kakathkar emphasized the prominence of such camps in fostering students’ career and the optimal way of utilizing summer vacation. National Road Safety Month
‘National Road Safety Month’ was observed under SDMIT ISTE Chapter in association with Belthangady Traffic Police and ARTO, Bantwal on 18th and 19th Jan. 2024. On this occasion, Mr. Dharmappa M.N, ASP, Mangalore and Mr. Arjun H.K, PSI, Belthangady addressed the students. Yuva Saptah
The college NSS unit organized Yuva Saptah on 17/01/2024. Smt. Vatsala, Trainer, Heartfulness Meditation Center, Dharmastala enlightened students and staff with thoughts of Swami Vivekananda. The talk was followed by meditation practice.

The college conducted a 2-day State Level Science Fair EXPERIA 2K23 for PU students on 29th and 30th Dec. Implementation of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace
An awareness programme on ‘Implementation of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013’ was held on 15/12/2023 to sensitize students and employees about the Act. Ms. Rashmi and Ms. Shobha Sharma spoke on the Act. Ms. Veena Bhat and Ms. Swathi Phadke organized the event.
Exploration of Aeronautical Engineering
The Dept. of Electronics and Communication organised a talk on ‘A Comprehensive Exploration of Aeronautical Engineering’ on 12-Dec-2023 for final and pre-final year students. Resource person Mr. N. Mallikarjuna, Manager, Helicopter Division, HAL, Bengaluru, spoke on the recent developments in aeronautical engineering, helicopter anatomy, different types of helicopters, challenges and career opportunities.

Yoga Day
A Yoga practice was arranged by the College NSS Unit on 21st June during International Yoga Day 2023. Dr. Sinchana, Dr. Kavya, Dr. Hema and Dr. Pranav experts from BNYS Ujire, taught asanas and highlighted the benefits. Mahesh Patil, NSS Officer and Prabhakar, Physical Director coordinated the programme. Staff members and students participated in the session.
