Engineers’ Day Celebration
The staff and students paid tribute to the Nation’s greatest engineer Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya on 15th September 2022 and celebrated Engineers’ Day. A team of faculty members visited two Govt. High Schools at Ujire and demonstrated science models and experiments to the children to kindle interest in science and technology.
Farewell 2022
On 18th July 2022, the college bid a fond farewell to the students of the outgoing batch of 2022. Red Cross Unit – Blood Donation Camp
The college Red Cross Unit, in association with Red Cross Blood Bank Mangalore, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 20.07.2022 and total of 150 units of blood have been donated by the staff and students.
Dr. D Veerendra Heggade nominated to the Rajya Sabha
Padma Vibhshana Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, the President of SDM Educational Society has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted the information and expressed confidence in Dr. DV Heggade's contributions. The SDM fraternity congratulates our beloved President for this milestone.
Life Skill Training Program
The college NSS Unit organized a Life Skills Training program for students on 28/3/2022. Ms. Parvin U. T, Yuvaparivartaki and Life Skills trainer from NIMHANS conducted the training. The training focused on developing self-awareness, creativity and emotional leverage. About 40 students attended the training.
Faculty Empowerment Programme
Dr. V.S Hegde, Emeritus Professor (Geology), SDM College of Engg. & Technology, Dharwad, spoke on Planning and Writing Research Proposals for Grants on 17th March 2022. Head of the depts. and senior faculty members attended the session and interacted with the resource person.
Women Day March 2022
The institute arranged a talk on ‘Women’s Health & Hygiene and Cancer Preventive Measures’ on 14.3.2022 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dr. Ashika Padival, Gynecologist, SDM Hospital, Ujire spoke on this occasion and interacted with the participants.
Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) along with ISTE Chapter of SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire, conducted a One-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme for the II-year students on 23.2.2022. Hands on Training on Data Structures Using Python
Conducted a 10-day hands-on training on Data Structures using Python Programming from 15th Nov to 7th Dec 2021 by Ms. Shobha and Ms. Shwetha S.V, Asst. Professors.
Placement Training
The first phase of the pre-placement training, followed by assessment tests and refresher sessions, has been conducted from 13th to 21st Dec. 2021 for the II and III-year students.
