Faculty members of SDMIT played a YakshaganaTalamaddale - ‘Brahma Kapala’ at college auditorium on 13th Sept. Yakshagana Talamaddale is a local form of folklore where talented conversationalists engage in musical conversations based on scriptures. They are like plays, but without enactment.

Onam, the traditional festival of Kerala was celebrated at SDMIT on the 14th of September. Students observed the festival with traditional Kerala attire, floral rangoli, songs, dance performances and traditional celebrations. Festivities at SDMIT are symbolic of cross-cultural bonding at SDM.

Two Day Hands-on Training Session on "Exploring Pointers in C" has been organised for the final year students of ECE and EEE on 17th and 18th August, 2019 at SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire. Prof. SiddalingeshNavalgund and Prof. Srikanth Shirakol from SDMCET, Dharwad conducted the training programme.

E-Step Start-up Boot Camp, initiated by Dept. of IT & BT, Govt. of Karnataka, was organised by SDM K-Tech Innovation Hub on 19th August 2019. Around 145 students participated in this program. Blood Donation Camp was organized in the Institute in association with SDM Hospital, Ujire on 3rd April 2019. Dr. Prabhash Kumar, Medical Officer, SDM Hospital was the Chief Guest during inauguration. A total of 367 units of blood were collected during the camp.

Idea generation workshop was organized in the Institute for II and III year students on 27th and 11th March 2019. Mr. B.S. Revankar, Former Director, NITK Step was the Resource person for the workshop.

“International Women’s Day”was celebrated on 8th March 2019. Smt. Hemavathi V. Heggade was the guest of honor. While addressing the staff she spoke on women’s special qualities, how women are good in tackling the situations while facing the problems, the importance of celebration of women’s day with real life examples. She also stressed that it should not be a one-day celebration it should be happen
